Ubisoft, the renowned gaming company behind the series, has finally confirmed that the much-anticipated title, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, is scheduled for release before March 31, 2026. This announcement coincided with Ubisoft’s recent earnings report, which highlighted key titles planned for the fiscal year 2025-2026.
Originally, the game was set to launch in January but has faced significant obstacles, including a notable three-year delay, a full transfer of production studios, and discussions surrounding a potential complete reboot of the project. Initially, the remake was in the capable hands of Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai, but the reins were handed over to Ubisoft Montréal in 2022. This transition has led to speculation about the potential loss of contributions from original team members such as voice actor Yuri Lowenthal and series creator Jordan Mechner. Ubisoft has yet to clarify whether Lowenthal, who is celebrated for his iconic portrayal of the Prince, or Mechner’s original narrative will still be incorporated into the final version of the game.
As of now, fans eagerly await any gameplay footage or teasers. The game continues to hold a spot on the list of highly anticipated releases alongside other notable titles like Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Anno 117: Pax Romana, Rainbow Six Mobile, Siege X, and The Division Resurgence. The current lack of visuals has left enthusiasts on the edge of their seats, growing increasingly anxious about the state of the remake.

Meanwhile, it’s worth noting that Rockstar Games has also announced a major milestone with the confirmation of the GTA 6 release date. The highly anticipated title is expected to hit gaming consoles on May 26, 2026. Early reports suggest that GTA 6 will feature enhanced gameplay capabilities, expanded maps, new characters, and an improved storyline, promising an enriched gaming experience for fans of the genre.
