Human Mobile Devices (HMD) and Lava have exciting plans to unveil their latest feature phones, which will incorporate cutting-edge Direct-to-Mobile (D2M) technology. HMD, in collaboration with renowned partners such as FreeStream, Sinclair, and Tejas Networks, is set to showcase its D2M-enabled devices at the highly anticipated World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025. This event is scheduled to take place from May 1 to 4 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, providing an excellent platform for these innovative products.
Lava has provided a glimpse into the key features of its upcoming device. The company has confirmed that its D2M phone will be powered by the MediaTek MT6261 System on Chip (SoC) and will also include an integrated Saankhya SL3000 chip for enhanced functionality. Reports indicate that the device will come equipped with a UHF antenna designed for television reception, GSM capabilities for voice calls, a vibrant 2.8-inch QVGA display, and a robust 2,200mAh battery to support all-day usage.
On the other hand, HMD’s D2M phones are poised to utilize the advanced Saankhya Labs’ SL-3000 chipset. These devices will feature access to a state-of-the-art Core Network platform, enabling targeted advertising, content delivery network (CDN) offloading, educational resources, emergency alerts, and various other functionalities designed to enhance user experience.

Direct-to-Mobile (D2M) technology represents a revolutionary advancement in broadcasting, aiming to reshape how consumers engage with various content and data.
