Kindle Paperwhite: What’s New?

The latest iteration of the Kindle Paperwhite is highlighted by its expansive 7-inch glare-free display—the largest screen yet in the series. Boasting a 300 ppi resolution and oxide thin-film transistor technology, it achieves a remarkable contrast ratio. Not only does the display support adjustable warm light and dark mode, but it also mimics the look of real paper, even when exposed to direct sunlight.

“With its enhanced speed, featuring 25% faster page transitions, customers can enjoy uninterrupted reading experiences. The largest display to date enhances reading comfort significantly,” remarked Dilip R.S., Director and Country Manager of Amazon Devices India.

In terms of design, this Kindle is lighter and thinner than previous models. It includes 16GB of internal storage along with an IPX8 water resistance rating, making it both portable and durable. Additionally, it features several reader-friendly tools, including X-Ray for character and setting references, Word Wise for vocabulary assistance, an integrated dictionary, translation capabilities, and a simplified setup via the Kindle mobile app.

The Kindle Paperwhite opens the door to a library of over 1.5 crore eBooks, inclusive of titles in multiple Indian languages such as Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, and others. Those subscribed to Kindle Unlimited can enjoy a rotating selection of over 20 lakh titles, while Amazon Prime members have access to a curated assortment of complimentary eBooks.
