ToggleBSNL Connectivity Issues: Numerous BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) subscribers are currently grappling with severe connectivity problems, rendering them unable to either access the internet or place phone calls. Many users have reported persistent ‘No Signal’ error messages that have severely disrupted their ability to utilize essential mobile services. While the outage appears to be widespread, regions such as Nagpur and Kolkata seem to be particularly hard hit.
As per information from DownDetector, reports of issues began surfacing in the early hours of January 1, with a significant number of complaints rolling in—over a hundred in a short span. Data indicates that more than 70% of users reported encountering the no signal error, with 33% facing a complete service blackout and 5% experiencing difficulties with mobile internet.
Parsing through the ongoing issues, it is important to note that BSNL has yet to publicly acknowledge the outage or provide any official communication regarding the situation. This silence has only fueled user frustration, leading many to take to social media platform X (formerly Twitter). Here, users are expressing their dissatisfaction through memes, humorous posts, and trolling content aimed at the BSNL network.
In addition to the current connectivity crisis, BSNL has reportedly announced plans to discontinue its 3G services, which have seen a marked decline in user demand. The company intends to maintain its 2G network primarily for voice calls, with a focus on ensuring service reliability for users who depend on basic mobile phones. This decision reportedly stems from ongoing complaints from consumers in regions such as Kerala regarding call connectivity issues—issues that persist even as BSNL works to expand its 4G network infrastructure.
Despite the ongoing challenges, BSNL has recently unveiled two new recharge plans aimed at providing cost-effective options for its subscribers. The first is priced at Rs 215 for a duration of 30 days, while the second plan costs Rs 628 for 84 days. Both options include unlimited calling, 100 SMS per day, and varying data allocations (2GB per day for the Rs 215 plan and 3GB daily for the Rs 628 plan). Additionally, these recharge plans come with perks like access to Zing Music, BSNL Tunes, and Astrotell, further enhancing their value for users seeking streamlined services.
