As per the detailed report, Apple is focusing on creating a specialized chipset tailored for its eagerly awaited smart glasses, which are set to compete directly with the Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses. This new processor, built upon the energy-efficient architecture of the Apple Watch chip, is being customized specifically to achieve low power consumption while still delivering high performance. It’s designed to effectively manage multiple cameras integrated into the smart glasses, enabling users to capture real-world images and seamlessly interact with various applications.

The mass production of this innovative chip is anticipated to kick off by late 2026 or early 2027, with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) expected to take on the production responsibilities.

In addition to the wearable tech, Apple is also developing next-generation processors for its Mac lineup, including the M6 (codenamed Komodo) and the M7 (codenamed Borneo). Furthermore, reports suggest that a more advanced chip, potentially referred to as Sotra, is in the pipeline, aiming for improved capabilities and performance enhancements.

Moreover, Apple is turning its attention to AI server chips designed to boost the performance of Apple Intelligence, which has faced scrutiny for a phased rollout.
