BenQ Unveils W5850 and W4100i Projectors for Premium Home Entertainment Experience

At the Smart Home Expo 2025 held in Mumbai, BenQ made waves with the launch of two impressive 4K projectors: the W5850 and W4100i. These models cater specifically to India’s burgeoning luxury home entertainment sector, appealing to high-net-worth individuals and AV enthusiasts who seek an exceptional private cinema experience.

Exclusively designed for dedicated home theatres, the W5850 and W4100i are priced at ₹7,00,000 and ₹4,00,000, respectively. This pricing not only positions them as premium options in the market but also distinguishes them from typical consumer electronics, clearly targeting a discerning clientele.

In addition, there’s an intriguing article featuring the Sonos Arc Ultra Soundbar with Sound Motion Technology, highlighting innovations in home audio solutions that pair well with such video equipment.

The W5850 and W4100i are tailored for users who invest in professionally configured home theatres. These projectors come equipped with advanced features, such as high dynamic range, lifelike color calibration, and seamless integration with AV systems. With an uptick in interest towards digital-first film releases and streaming services, BenQ markets these projectors as essential components of a refined entertainment ecosystem designed for long-term satisfaction.

Cinema-grade tech for serious AV enthusiasts

The W5850 projector is engineered for large, dimly lit home cinemas, supporting native 4K resolution across screen sizes of up to 200 inches. It utilizes a 2600-lumen blue core laser light source, ensuring 100% DCI-P3 color coverage through BenQ’s advanced CinematicColor technology. This feature guarantees vibrant and precise color reproduction. Furthermore, the projector supports both HDR10+ and HLG formats, leveraging BenQ’s HDR-PRO image suite to adjust contrast and brightness dynamically. This ensures that depth is maintained in both luminous and shadowy scenes.

In contrast, the W4100i provides enhanced adaptability for smart home settings. With a powerful 3200-lumen 4-LED light source, it excels in environments where ambient light fluctuates. This model comes with built-in Android TV and has been Netflix certified, alongside an AI Cinema Mode equipped with ambient light detection. Such characteristics make it an ideal choice for living rooms or areas designated for flexible entertainment, as it can dynamically adjust to varying lighting conditions without compromising quality.

Both projectors come equipped with motorized lens shift and zoom capabilities, alongside real-time picture adjustment features. They are also compatible with third-party calibration software, essential for users and integrators striving for the highest accuracy and an immersive viewing experience.

For cinema, not for gaming

While offering a low input lag of 17.9 milliseconds and support for enhanced audio return channel (eARC) compatible with Dolby Atmos sound systems, BenQ explicitly positions these projectors as cinema-first devices. This strategic direction aligns closely with their target audience’s preferences, prioritizing image fidelity, cinematic sound, and room-wide integration over high refresh rates or gaming-centric features.

With the introduction of the W5850 and W4100i models, BenQ is solidifying its market presence within India’s high-end AV landscape. As OTT platforms shape entertainment consumption habits and cinema attendance becomes increasingly selective, a significant number of consumers are looking to invest in sophisticated projectors that deliver cinema-quality performances in the comfort of their homes.
